Big Badge Improvements for SXSW 2017!
From new tracks of Conference programming to a new approach to our popular gaming event, we’ve implemented many cool changes for SXSW 2017. But none of these changes are more important — or more significant — than our completely reworked badge system for March Magic in Austin.
The new system empowers SXSW Interactive, Music and Film registrants to attend a lot more content (ranging from panel sessions to film screenings to band showcases, plus the comedy performances) that is outside their badge type. This new system also empowers SXSW Interactive, Music and Film registrants to dramatically increase the scale and scope of networking opportunities at the event. Click here to read more about this improved functionality. Or, get all the details on what we mean by primary access and secondary access by watching this two-minute video.
Why this change after 30 years of a less inclusive approach to badges? This new system reflects the immense popularity of the Convergence programming at SXSW over the last few years. Moreover, it reflects our strong belief that the creative elements that power the Interactive, Music and Film industries are much more similar than they are different.
Finally, remember that Friday, February 10 is the final day to save $100 on the walkup price for SXSW 2017. Fees to attend March Magic increase beginning Saturday, February 11 — so what are you waiting for? After you purchase your badge, reserve your Austin lodging via the SXSW Hotel Department.
