Attend the Austin Forum on the evening of Tuesday, February 12 to learn more from Robyn Metcalfe about “Technology to Sustainably Grow More & Better Food.”
Metcalfe (pictured above) is the Director of Food + City here in Austin. Said best via her bio on this site: “The same sense of wonder that called Dr. Robyn Metcalfe to run the great deserts of the world has led her to take on the task of mapping our current food supply. A historian, desert distance runner, and food futurist with a lifelong hunger to take on irrational challenges, she marvels at what it takes to simply create a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.”
The February 12 edition of the Austin Forum will also feature a very quick overview of SXSW 2019 programming, particularly as related to the Food Track (scheduled March 11–13 at the JW Marriott). Highlights of this year’s SXSW Food Track include the “Localizing Food to Restore Human Health” Featured Session with award-winning San Francisco chef Dominique Crenn, as well as “The Future of Eating” with University of Texas Psychology & Marketing professor Art Markman.
Additionally, Austin Forum attendees will have not one but two chances to win a free free free badge for SXSW 2019.
