Food For Thought ATX: May 21 Kick-Off
From May 21–25, take part in “Food For Thought ATX,” a week of corporate volunteer opportunities during the day paired with fun, informative events in the evenings that continue the conversation of impact. These events take place as part of the Annual Spring Service Week from the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Central Texas and Blackbaud.
Festivities begin on Monday, May 21 at 4:00 pm at Capital Factory with some great food and light bites from Komeeda, as well as some great conversations about the robust and fragile food ecosystem. Speakers on May 21 include world-renowned food economist Dr. Raj Patel and Erin C. Lentz, from the LBJ School of Public Affairs.
Other experts lending their voice to this May 21 kick-off event include Derrick Chubbs (Central Texas Food Bank), Ronda Rutledge (Sustainable Food Center), Max Elliott (Urban Roots), Edwin Marty (City of Austin’s Office of Sustainability), and Robyn Metcalfe (Food + City).
The Spring Service Week continues with An Evening at Eden East on Tuesday, May 22; Cooking Classes on Wednesday, May 23; Outdoor Movie Night at Community First! on Thursday, May 24; and Community + events on Friday, May 25 and Saturday, May 26. All activities are free free free.
Established in 1999, the Entrepreneurs Foundation connects high-impact companies in Central Texas with various high-impact causes around the world. Beyond Blackbaud, other Austin-area companies participating in the 2018 Spring Service Week include JDI, Vida Capital, CreditCards.Com, data.world, Invodo, SailPoint and UShip.
