Austin is on the forefront of exciting, cutting-edge innovation within the food meets technology space, as witnessed by a few upcoming events.

The Austin Texas Food & Tech Landscape” Meet Up occurs on Monday, January 28 at the Cook’s Nook (502 Thompson Lane). This gathering features Edwin Marty, the Food Policy Manager with the City of Austin’s Office of Sustainability. He will provide an overview of the work that the city is doing to support and develop a local, sustainable food system.

Meanwhile the Tuesday February 12 edition of the Austin Forum covers “Technology to Sustainably Grow More & Better Food.” This event will feature the expertise of Dr. Robyn Metcalfe, who is founder and director of Food + City, an organization committed to inspiring supply chain innovation and big ideas for how cities across the globe are fed.

Finally, be sure to attend the Food Track at SXSW 2019. Scheduled March 11–13, this track includes intriguing titles like “Food of the Dystopia: Beyond Bugs and Beans,” “Ingredients for an Empathetic Kitchen” and “Radical Transparency in Our Food Supply Through Blockchain.”
