#GivingTuesday 2017 Comes Nov 28

The Thanksgiving holiday means there are far fewer Austin tech-related events to preview this week. So we will jump ahead by a few days and focus on #GivingTuesday 2017, which occurs on November 28.
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. In the US, it is celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely-recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday. #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many individuals and organizations focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
Visit the #GivingTuesday website for suggestions on how individuals can get involved with this event, including volunteering time, donating part of your paycheck and the #MyGivingStory writing contest.

#GivingTuesday is an international event with a global impact, although many activities are coordinated through local offices. In Austin, many of the events are coordinated by I Live Here, I Give Here.
