With the 2017 event little more than 60 days away, this is the time of the year with an overflow of SXSW information. These are the four most important things to know on Wednesday, January 11.

  1. More Incredible Content. Today, we announced another batch of Featured Speakers for March in Austin, including Steve Case, Beth Comstock, Van Jones, Marie Kondo, Ray Kurzweil, Casey Neistat, Gen. Paul J. Selva and numerous others.
  2. January 13 Registration Deadline. Buy your 2017 badge before end of the day on Friday, January 13 to save $200 on walkup fees. Watch this two minute video to better understand the improved badge functionality for this spring.
  3. January 13 SXSW Release It Deadline. Startups (as well as established companies) that are launching in March should apply to be part of this buzz-building competition. Entry deadline for SXSW Release It is end of the day on Friday, January 13.
  4. January 20 Gaming Pitch Deadline. Got a gaming-related startup? Then enter the Gaming Pitch Competition. Applications close at the end of the day on Friday, January 20. A new edition for 2017, SXSW Gaming runs March 16–18 at the Austin Convention Center.
