July 10 Deadline for Austin Design Week
The Forrest Four-Cast: June 30, 2017
July is the time of the year to get your speaking proposal for SXSW 2018 into the PanelPicker. Additionally, numerous other March Magic competitions and awards are now up-and-running for entry, including the SXSW Community Grants and the SXSW Art Program.
Central Texas residents should also apply to be part of Austin Design Week 2017, which is scheduled for November 6–10. Launched a year ago, ADW was founded with the mission to bring together individuals, organizations, companies and designers of all disciplines as one community. Through a variety of workshops, talks, studio tours and other events, ADW aims to help unite designers by crossing field divisions and finding a common goal, thereby learning and growing together.
The theme for ADW 2017 is “Finding Place.” Yes, this theme is open for interpretation, as it can apply to an individual, a designer, or as a thought leader — in your work, home, city and community. With this theme, ADW hopes to dig deeper into the city’s identity as a city through the lens of those impacting the creative economy. Access the 2017 entry form here.
While SXSW is not directly affiliated with Austin Design Week, we are impressed by the energy and the excitement that this new event brings to our ecosystem of creativity and innovation. The application deadline for ADW 2017 is end of the day on Monday, July 10.
