UPDATE: Deadline extended to end of day on Friday, August 4.

The SXSW Community Service Awards celebrate the spirit of giving back that is such a big part of what makes March Magic special. If you are involved in this kind of impactful work, then know that the application deadline for these awards is the end of the day on Friday, July 28.

From all applications received, the five most outstanding individuals and the five most outstanding organizations will be recognized for their community service. Each of these 10 honorees will receive complimentary badges to SXSW, a $5,000 grant, and a chance to spread the word about their good work to the global community that gathers in Austin for SXSW.

These 10 individual and organization winners will be featured at a special ceremony on the evening of Sunday, March 11. Admission to this ceremony is free (badge is not required) — stay tuned to the SXSW website for details on location and start time. If service to your community is an important part of your focus, also check out the Social Impact track at SXSW 2018. Many of the sessions for this track will be selected via SXSW PanelPicker speaking proposals. Public voting on these proposals begins on Monday, August 7 via this interface.
