June 28 in Austin: Net Neutrality 101
The Forrest Four-Cast: June 24, 2018
At 6:30 pm on Thursday, June 28 at the Terrazas Branch Library (1105 E. Cesar Chavez St in Austin), attend a presentation titled “Net Neutrality 101: Why An Open Internet is Important.”
We’ve all read that FCC net neutrality regulations have now been rolled back, but what exactly does that mean? While net neutrality is a term much employed in debates about digital freedom, many only vaguely understand its meaning and its various implications.
For this June 28 event, EFF-Austin President Kevin Welch (pictured above) will present an overview — explaining what net neutrality means in practical terms, why a free and open Internet is important, and how rolling back the regulations might affect users in general and nonprofits in particular.
Nonprofit Tech Club Austin is part of a network of nonprofit tech clubs across the nation and globally. Gatherings are free and open to all — but you are encouraged to RSVP for the June 28 event.
