My post from earlier this week about anticipated trends for SXSW 2017 has received a lot of good response. This traction is encouraging since so much of what we do in March in Austin focuses on making order and sense of what the future will bring. Formulate your own understanding of tomorrow by browsing the 1000+ sessions in the online schedule for SXSW 2017.

If you want more forecasting about the most important technology concepts for the next 12 months, then be sure to attend the Austin Forum tonight at 6:15 pm at Galvanize (119 Nueces St, a few blocks west of City Hall). The Wednesday, January 4 edition of this monthly meeting series features a conversation with Jay Boisseau, CEO of Vizias, and Jay Williams, CTO of Cerebri AI. No charge to register for the event — sign up here to attend. Plus, lots of no-hassle parking options nearby to Galvanize.

For tonight’s event, I will also present a brief overview of SXSW 2017 at the beginning of the session. SXSW has been involved with the Austin Forum for a couple of years now, as the two events tend to cover a lot of the same forward-thinking topics. Both organizations also provide outstanding opportunities to network and create new connections. Our involvement means that if you come to the Austin Forum, then you have a shot at winning a FREE badge for March 2017. Such a deal!

Can’t attend the Austin Forum tonight? Then plan to attend in future months. The February 1 installment will address best ways to launch a startup. Meanwhile on March 1, the focus will be artificial intelligence. For both Feb and March, the Austin Forum will include a short presentation on SXSW 2017, as well as a chance to attend the event at zero cost.
