Naomi Klein in Austin on October 3
The Forrest Four-Cast: September 29, 2019
At 7 pm on Thursday, October 3 at BookPeople (603 North Lamar), Andrea Valdez of The Texas Observer will talk to best-selling author Naomi Klein about her new book “On Fire: The Burning Case for a Green New Deal.”
This most current release pairs Klein’s impassioned writing on the consequences of climate change with new material on the staggeringly high stakes of our immediate political and economic choices.
With reports spanning from the ghostly Great Barrier Reef, to the annual smoke-choked skies of the Pacific Northwest, to post-hurricane Puerto Rico, to a Vatican attempting an unprecedented ecological conversion, “On Fire” makes the compelling case that we will rise to the existential challenge of climate change only if we are willing to transform the systems that produced this crisis.
Finally, learn more about our current ecological challenges at the new “Climate & Social Action” track at SXSW 2020. Content for this track will be announced via the SXSW website on Tuesday, October 22.
