New Tracks at SXSW: Game Industry
The Forrest Four-Cast: October 18, 2019
For next spring in Austin, the SXSW Conference includes 22 different tracks of programming. These panels and presentations begin on Friday, March 13 and conclude on Saturday, March 21.
One of the most exciting new tracks for 2020 is “Game Industry,” which runs March 16–18. This track examines the exponentially-increasing influence that the making, marketing, and distribution of video games is having on international culture, tech businesses, and traditional entertainment media including film and music.
Other new tracks for SXSW 2020 include “Climate & Social Action,” “Connection & Culture,” “Fantastic Future,” “Future of Music,” “Professional Development” and “Space.”
More than 500 panels and presentations in all of these 22 tracks will be announced via the SXSW website on Tuesday, October 22. Already announced as part of the Game Industry track for next spring is former Nintendo for America President Reggie Fils-Aime, who will serve as one of the keynotes for SXSW 2020.
