If you missed SpaceATX earlier this month, then you have another wonderful opportunity to explore the wonders of interplanetary travel at the New Worlds Space Settlement Conference. This event runs November 15–16 at the Bullock Texas State History Museum (1800 Congress Ave).

The New Worlds Space Settlement Conference is presented by the Earthlight Foundation. This organization is committed to enabling human beings to live and thrive in space, to identifying and developing the technologies and approaches needed to harvest space resources and using those resources to build new industries, companies and communities that will open the frontier, be it on the Moon, Mars or the Free Space between worlds.

Speakers at the 2019 New Worlds Space Settlement Conference include Dr. Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin (Astronaut), Cas Anvar (Co-Star Amazon’s “The Expanse”), Barbara Belvisi (Interstellar Lab), William “Whurley” Hurley (StrangeWorks), Dr. Namrata Goswami (Futures Laboratory), Loretta Hidalgo Whitesides (Virgin Galactic), Kelly Larson (Aquarian Devices), Thomas Markusic (Firefly Aerospace), Ingrid Vanderveldt (EBW2020), and Khaki Rodway (Bradford Space).

Find even more content on this topic at the new Space Track which runs March 18–20 at SXSW 2020. Sessions scheduled for next spring include “Space Gold Rush,” “The Billion Year Archive and Lost Lunar Library,” and “Space for All: The Future’s Frontier.” Click here for more info on confirmed space-related panels and presentations for March.

Hugh Forrest serves as Chief Programming Officer at SXSW, the world’s most unique gathering of creative professionals. He also tries to write at least four paragraphs per day on Medium. These posts often cover tech-related trends; other times they focus on books, pop culture, sports and other current events.
