Today is the last day of two weeks of session selection meetings. The next major milestone in this lengthy process comes on Monday, October 17. On this day, we announce the majority of sessions for the SXSW Conference, which occurs March 10–19 in Austin.

The October 17 announcement will include 500+ sessions in the 24 tracks for SXSW 2017, which range from “Design” to “Intelligent Future” to “Tech Industry” to “VR/AR.” Most of the content announced on October 17 will come via speaking proposals entered in the SXSW PanelPicker. For 2017, more than 4000 total speaking proposals were entered via this unique interface. All PanelPicker proposals were voted on by the web public and were also rated by the SXSW Advisory Board as well as SXSW staff.

In addition to these 500+ sessions, we will reveal several more Keynote Speakers and Featured Speakers on October 17. Already confirmed Keynotes for SXSW 2017 include CRISPR co-founder Jennifer Doudna, as well as director, writer, producer Lee Daniels. Already confirmed Featured Speakers for SXSW 2017 include Kate Crawford (Microsoft Research), Bill Ford, Jr (Ford Motors), Mary Lou Jepsen (Openwater), Dan Lyons (Author), Candice Morgan (Pinterest), Gary Vaynerchuk (VaynerMedia), plus many more.

As a reminder, SXSW 2017 offers improved badge functionality, which will empower attendees with significantly more opportunities for discovery and for cross-industry networking. Watch this short video to learn more about the new badge structure for next spring.
