Yesterday, SXSW announced the addition of award-winning author Ta-Nehisi Coates to the 2018 Keynote Lineup. His 2015 release “Between the World and Me” won the National Book Award for Nonfiction. A previous winner of Genius Grant” from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Coates next book “We Were Eight Years in Power: An American Tragedy” is scheduled for release on Tuesday, October 3.

Other keynotes for SXSW 2018 include Barry Jenkins (Moonlight), Esther Perel (author) and whurley (quantum computing expert). More keynote speakers for next spring will be released in the coming weeks and months.

Also part of the August 30 announcement is entrepreneur, investor, “Shark Tank” star, blogger and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. This ever-opinionated Texas-transplant has lent his expertise to SXSW several times in the past — and he is always one of our most popular speakers. Click here to watch his video from the 2017 event, when he explained his investment in Austin-based insurance-aggregator startup The Zebra (and also covered his thoughts on a number of other tech, cultural and political issues).

Other Featured Speakers for SXSW 2018 include Dave Asprey (Bulletproof 360), Jeff Fager and Charlie Rose (60 Minutes), Audrey Gelman (The Wing), Kristina Halvorson (Brain Traffic), Dan Harris (ABC Nightline), Steve Huffman (Reddit), Dean Kamen (Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute), Savan Kotecha (songwriter), Dr. Fei-Fei Li (Google Cloud), Joseph Lubin (Ethereum), Tim O’Reilly (O’Reilly Media), Steven Pinker (author), Alisa Vitti (FLOLiving.com) and Elaine Welteroth (Teen Vogue).

Additionally, we are excited about this special panel session featuring four Daily Show personalities: Jocelyn Conn, Akash Goyal, Ramin Hedayati, Hasan Minhaj, and Matt Negrin.
