UPDATE: SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards deadline extended to end of day on Sunday, November 12.
While Friday, November 10 is the entry deadline for the SXSW Accelerator Pitch Event, this date is also your last chance to get your application(s) in for the 2018 SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards.
Now in its 21st year, the SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards recognize the most exciting tech developments in the connected world.
Categories of entry for 2018 include the following:
— AI & Machine Learning
— Health, Med, & BioTech
— Innovation in Connecting People
— Music & Audio Innovation
— New Economy
— Privacy & Security
— Responsive Design
— SCIFI No Longer
— Smart Cities
— Student Innovation
— Visual Media Experience
— VR & AR
— Wearable Tech
Finalists in each of these categories are honored at the gala SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards Ceremony at the Downtown Austin Hilton on the evening of Tuesday, March 13.
Other special distinctions that are presented at this fun-filled ceremony include “Best of Show,” “People’s Choice Award,” “Breakout Trend of the Event,” “Speaker of the Event,” “Interactive Hall of Fame,” and “Meme of the Year.”
In addition to the SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards Ceremony, finalists demo their creations at the SXSW Innovation Awards Finalist Showcase on Sunday, March 11.

And be sure to get your application in before the end of the day on Friday, November 10. While we have accepted late entries to this competition in previous years, late entries will not be accepted for the 2018 event.
