SXSW March 13: Awesome Encore Sessions!
More encore presentations of some of the most popular sessions have been added for Monday, March 13. These encore presentations allow more registrants to attend more SXSW content. The encore presentations for Monday, March 13 include:
AI’s Final Frontier: Your Living Room. Join Kasita CEO Jeff Wilson as he shares what he’s learned by taking a product approach to the home, how his startup is rolling out the ultimate piece of integrated “hardware,” and how new trends are causing the housing industry to re-think physical space altogether.
Augmented Intelligence: The Next-Gen AI. Augmented Intelligence takes human intuition and imagination, and combines it with AI’s ability to automate and scale, making the Intelligent Workplace hard to beat. Learn more from Melanie Cook of SapientRazorfish.
Being Human: How Personal Stories Change the World. With leading voices from the Obama Administration’s senior speech (and joke) writing team, the Ford Foundation, and The Atlantic, this session will explore how we bear witness and give meaning to the defining issues of our time with humor, rage, grief, and honesty.
Facebook Messenger and the Rise of the Chatbot! Facebook Messenger launched in April 2016 — propelling a growing explosion of chatbots. These bots offer a range of interactions and services — from gaming personas like the Call of Duty Lt Reyes to AI financial assistants like Trim or the rise of personal bot platforms like Olabot. Speakers will discuss what they’ve learned as bot creators and share best practices for building on the Facebook Messenger platform.
Interactive Data Analysis: Visualization and Beyond. Covering both interactive demos and principles from academic research, this session will examine how to craft a careful balance of interactive and automated methods, combining concepts from data visualization, machine learning, and computer systems to design novel interactive analysis tools.
So You Want To Go To Mars. So you want to visit the Red Planet — and live to tell about it? NASA is building the world’s first interplanetary space travel system to take humans on deep-space missions to destinations never explored before. Come meet the team and learn how to follow them along the Journey to Mars.
Storytelling In Design. Drawing on tried and tested storytelling principles from film, fiction, and music and applying them to the context of UX design and business, Anna Dahlstrom (pictured above) shares how we can instil a bit of magic in the work we do and hereby ensure that we create better multi-device experiences for our users and healthier bottom lines for our businesses.
UX of Story: Designing the Future of Storytelling. The creative tools that storytellers have used over the course of the last couple hundred years rely heavily on the common expected experience of a particular medium. Big shifts in the way we tell stories have always been influenced by changes in available technology, from stage to movie theaters, to our living rooms.
