UPDATE: Entry deadline for SXSW 2019 speaking proposals extended to Sunday, July 22 at 11:59 pm Pacific Time.

If you want to showcase your expertise at SXSW 2019, then you need to enter your speaking proposal via the PanelPicker interface. Master this process by following the 25 tips for speaking proposal success revealed in this space between now and the July 20 deadline.

Today’s tip is to mind your capitalization in the title and the description that you enter into the PanelPicker. Titles and descriptions that are written in all capital letters aren’t good. Neither are titles and descriptions that are written in all lower case letters. Please follow the PanelPicker directions and write your title and description using standard capitalization conventions.

Find the list of all 25 PanelPicker tips on this page. For useful recommendations on what NOT to do when entering a speaking proposal in this interface, read this post from 2015 as well as this post from 2016.

Also you can preview everything that you will need for the PanelPicker application by downloading PDFs of this form here.

Finally, please remember that the registration process for SXSW 2019 opens on Wednesday, August 1. Buy your badge early to ensure the lowest rates and to have the most options on convenient downtown lodging.
