SXSW PanelPicker Tip #20: Tune Your Title
Speaking proposals for SXSW 2019 are now being accepted via the PanelPicker interface. As the Friday, July 20 entry deadline gets closer and closer, we offer 25 tips on how you can have the most success in this process.
Today’s recommendation is to make sure that the title of your speaking proposal accurately and specifically reflects the focus of your proposal. Titles that are too vague and too general should be avoided. Titles that are funny are good — but only if the humor works in the context of your description. The best case scenario here is that people can understand exactly what your proposal is all about by simply reading your artfully-created title. Which may take some extensive word-crafting on your part (given that the length of the title can not exceed 50 characters).
Also remember that the registration process for SXSW 2019 opens on Wednesday, August 1. Buy your badge early to ensure the lowest rates and to have the most options on convenient downtown lodging.
