If you want to speak at SXSW 2019, then you want to get a speaking proposal into the PanelPicker interface. Between now and the July 20 entry deadline, this column will host 25 tips such that you can have the most success with this very competitive process.

Today’s reminder is that once you hit the “submit” button on the last page of the PanelPicker interface, you can NOT edit / change / correct / update your entry. This is all the more reason to wait until the end of the day on Friday, July 20 to enter your speaking proposal. If you wait until the deadline day, then you will be giving yourself the maximum length of time to proofread and re-proofread and re-re-proofread your idea.

Browse the running list of all 25 PanelPicker tips by visiting this page. Also for instructions on what NOT to do when entering a speaking proposal in this interface, read this post from 2015 as well as this post from 2016.

Finally, mark your calendar for Wednesday, August 1, which is when badge sales open for the 2019 event. Buy your badge early to ensure the lowest rates and to have the most options on convenient downtown lodging.
