F*ck the Gatekeepers. Wait, Maybe We Need Them? Artist and their teams discuss the role of gatekeepers in today’s ever-evolving music industry. Human Enhancement Tech: How, Why & What Next? What if you could make yourself smarter, stronger, slower to age? What if you could connect your internet-enabled devices directly to your brain and send and receive messages without having to look at your phone? If you could, would you? This session is part of the Fantastic Future track at SXSW 2020 which runs March 16–21.
Is There an Echo in Here? Building Alexa Skills. This workshop will discuss best practices for designing Voice User Interfaces (VUI) and go through all the steps of building your own Alexa Skill. Every attendee will leave having built a working Alexa Skill for the Echo voice platform, and with knowledge about how to better design a VUI. The Right to Be Let Alone: Privacy and #MeToo. Cynthia Cole (Baker Botts LLP) and Carrie Goldberg (C.A.
